9-10 Lead Counselor
Mrs. Palme is a graduate of Kutztown University with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. She continued her journey and love of learning by pursuing her graduate degree in Secondary School Counseling from West Chester University. Mrs. Palme is also a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in a private practice setting specializing in Play Therapy, along with other modes of therapy ranging from ages 3 to 70. Mrs. Palme loves to swim and run. She swam competitively at the high school and collegiate levels. She is currently training to be a Master’s Level swimmer through USA Swimming! Mrs. Palme loves to get to know her students and their family structures to help build connections.
Mrs. Ambrose is from eastern PA. She earned her graduate degree from West Chester University of PA (WCU) in Counseling and Educational Psychology for Higher Education and is also a certified Secondary School Counselor. Her undergraduate degree is from Arcadia University where she studied Psychology and spent a semester abroad in Scotland. As a lifelong learner, Mrs. Ambrose is passionate about education, self-advocacy and teaching students "to fish", as well as celebrating their accomplishments! Mrs. Ambrose has worked in educational counseling for over 13 years, from middle schools, high schools and colleges, to juvenile detention centers. This is her 4th year at Agora. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family and friends, being outside, listening to music, shopping, adventuring, and cooking.
Suzanne Kuryla Klein
Mrs. Kuryla Klein is from New York State, specifically, the Finger Lakes Region. She graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and then pursued her Masters of Science degree in Counseling and Human Development from the University of Rochester.
She has lived in Philadelphia for the past few years, and loves the weather and city environment. Some hobbies she enjoys include; running, walking her huge boxer dog named Norman, baking, cooking, and being with family and friends. She loves being a School Counselor and enjoys working with students on career development, motivation, time management, PSAT/SAT prep, self-esteem, goal setting, and so much more!
Mrs. Laubach lives in Chester County which is about 45 minutes outside of Philly. She enjoys yoga and reading, spending time with family, and good movies. Traveling is her real passion, she studied abroad in college and ever since then she has an itch to meet new people and see new things! She has a 4 year old golden retriever named Balboa and a puppy named Talula, who is more than a handful, but she would not have it any other way :) She attended Susquehanna University where she got her B.S. in Psychology with an emphasis in Education. After her Bachelors she went to Villanova University where she got her Masters degree in Secondary School Counseling. Mrs. Laubach got married in May 2015! She looks forward to working with you all!
This is Mrs. Manko’s tenth year as a School Counselor and second year at Agora. She earned her Masters of Education degree in Secondary School Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and just recently received her Supervisor of Pupil Personnel certificate from Duquesne University. Prior to Agora, she worked in a public school as a High School Counselor for eight years. Before becoming a School Counselor, she was a family therapist for UPMC. Mrs. Manko is looking forward to bringing all that experience to Agora students.
Mrs. Manko lives right outside of Pittsburgh with her husband, Eric and their newborn baby boy, Maxwell. She loves spending time with friends and family, reading, going into the city and watching Pittsburgh sports teams. Mrs. Manko’s passion is helping students advocate for themselves and working with them to reach their academic, personal and career goals!

Mrs. McQuillan earned her M.Ed. Degree in School Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is certified as a K-12 School Counselor. She also has a Bachelor’s degree of Science from Point Park University in Psychology. Mrs. McQuillan is currently working on her goal towards becoming a Nationally Certified Counselor as well as becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Prior to joining the Counseling Department at Agora, Mrs. McQuillan supported students from a Family Coach role for three years and served as a Community Mental Health Counselor in Pittsburgh. She is also a member of the American School Counselor Association and Pennsylvania School Counselor Association.
She is a dedicated advocate for her students and enjoys helping students reach their personal, social, career, and academic goals. She hopes to inspire enthusiasm amongst her students in order for them to have a positive and successful school experience as well as develop into lifelong learners. Mrs. McQuillan lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, four year old son Liam, two year old daughter Colette, and their Golden Retriever named Eisenhower. In her free time she enjoys running, cooking, shopping and reading
Mrs. Patterson is a 9th and 10th grade School Counselor, and came to Agora in 2009 who earned her Masters of Education Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). She is certified as a Secondary School Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor, and is currently attending Point Park University and working toward K-12 Principal certification. Prior to working at Agora, she worked as a Counselor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and as a Therapeutic Specialist at Wesley Spectrum Family Services. Mrs. Patterson is a strong believer in gaining real world experience by exploring opportunities in the community early in high school. She has two daughters, (Sunny and Viola), and enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and writing in her free time.
Mrs. Shivetts is from Latrobe Pennsylvania which is about 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. She graduated from Clarion University where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology. From there she pursued her Masters of Science degree in Community Counseling and School Counseling Certification.
Mrs. Shivetts enjoys spending time with her family, going on vacations, and watching college football! She also enjoys running, going to the park with her kids, and relaxing on her porch swing. She enjoys working with her students on setting goals and helping them plan for the future! Her favorite quote is by Dr. Seuss: “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. If things start happening, don’t worry don’t stew. You’ll start happening too.”

Mrs. Zakielarz is originally from Northern New Jersey but went to college in Boston. She graduated in 2008 with her BA in Psychology from Simmons College, a small all-women’s Liberal Arts school, and she received her M.S. in Counseling and Human Relations with a certification in Secondary School Counseling from Villanova University in 2011. She currently lives in Delaware County, near Philadelphia, and she loves to read, find new music, dance, cook, run, (She runs the Rothman 8k every year in November!), and spend time with her husband, her 5 year old French Bulldog Louis, friends and awesome family. Her counseling philosophy is to help every student grow into the best person ( not JUST student!) that they can be, and to motivate each student to reach and realize their full potential!
Mrs. Zeisloft lives in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, in Peters Township. She hopes to be able to meet many of our Southwestern PA families personally at various events throughout the year! Mrs. Zeisloft has worked in education for her entire professional career. Before becoming a Guidance Counselor, she worked with students at the college level in Student Admissions, Residence Life, Student Affairs, and Judicial Affairs (with most of those roles at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University). She attended Westminster College with a BA in Organizational Behavior, received a Master of Education at the University of Pittsburgh, and received her school counseling certification at California University of Pennsylvania. She is also a member of the American School Counselor Association, as well as the state association. In her free time, she enjoys doing things with her husband and three kids, traveling, and volunteering. She has a crazy, busy household, like many of you!

Mrs. Quisito has been a counselor at Agora since 2007. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from Towson University and later went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University, and has worked here ever since. Mrs. Quisito loves being a part of the Agora community and helping students reach their goals. In addition to counseling, Mrs. Quisito’s passions are: running, going to the beach, and playing with her kids. She has 2 children, Giovanni (6) and Giuliana (3). Mrs. Quisito is excited about working with her students this year as well as leading this wonderful team of counselors!
Mrs. Jafarian earned her Masters of Education Degree in Secondary School Counseling from Gwynedd Mercy College in 2012. She is certified as a Secondary School Counselor (7th-12th grade). She also holds a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from West Chester University in Psychology. Mrs. Jafarian has worked at Agora for four years. She had the opportunity to work here as a family coach and as a teacher at the Philadelphia Learning Center. She enjoyed both positions very much.
Mrs. Jafarian loves to travel and spend time with her family. She has a one year old son named Mason! She is looking forward to working with the 11th and 12th grade students at Agora! She loves to help her students accomplish their goals and make plans for their future.
Mr. Learn earned his Master of Education Degree in Counselor Education - Secondary School Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and is certified as a PreK - 12 School Counselor. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Pittsburgh – Greensburg.
Mr. Learn has over 10 years of experience in secondary and higher education, which includes: Adelphoi Village, University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Public Schools, and Agora Cyber Charter School. He enjoys working with students to assist them in reaching their goals along with helping students with their personal, academic, and career growth.
In his spare time, Mr. Learn enjoys spending time with his family and friends, running/jogging, and watching Pittsburgh sports teams.
Mrs. Erica Lee earned her Masters of Education Degree in Secondary School Counseling from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and is certified as a Secondary School Counselor (7-12th grade). She also holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Psychology, with a minor in Sociology.
Mrs. Lee has over 10 years’ experience working with children and adolescents, including: Cove Forge Behavioral Health System, Alternative Community Resource Program, Evergreen Boys and Girls Club, Tuscarora Blended Learning Charter School, and Agora Cyber Charter School. Mrs. Lee lives with her husband, who is a high school principal, her son Theodore, and her cat named Abbey. They live in Huntingdon, PA, home of Juniata College and Raystown Lake. In her spare time, Mrs. Lee enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, cooking, baking, and reading. She is very excited to be going into her 5th year at Agora and is looking forward to helping her students reach their academic, personal, and career goals!
Mr. Mike Mirth is certified as a Secondary School Counselor having earned his Masters of Education Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and his Bachelors of Education Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education at Fairmont State University. Prior to working at Agora, he spent 6 years teaching high school math at three high schools in the Pittsburgh area.
He has a wonderful family and lives in the Erie, PA area. He has been married 13 years and has 3 (yes 3!!) daughters, 9 year old Sarah, 6 year old Lucy and 2 year old Anna. When he is not hanging out with his family, some of his hobbies include running (he ran the 2016 Pittsburgh Marathon, his first), Geocaching (he was the K12 Geocaching Club sponsor from 2012-14), Kayaking, Basketball, and all West Virginia University and Pittsburgh sports. He is also a bit of a nerd who loves Star Wars (can’t wait for Episode VIII), Harry Potter, math and Fantasy Football. Mr. Mirth is an avid listener of Dave Matthews Band, Queen, Paul Simon, David Bowie, and The Beatles, among many other groups. Please don't hesitate to reach out, he can't wait to work with you all!
Mrs. Noss earned her Masters of Education Degree in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling from West Chester University in 2011. She is certified as an Elementary and Secondary School Counselor, K-12. She also holds a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from King’s College (Wilkes-Barre, PA) in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Mrs. Noss has a diverse work background that includes a year abroad as a volunteer in Kingston, Jamaica, a case manager for a juvenile delinquency center, and as a Guidance Counselor at Agora for the past 3 years. Mrs. Noss just got married in February of 2015, she used to be Ms. Bowes! In her spare time she loves to run, play flag football, cook, and read. She is looking forward to another great year with the 11th and 12th graders at Agora!
Mrs. Mindy Rockower, earned her Masters of Education Degree in Secondary School Counseling from Fairfield University and is certified in school counseling grades k-12. She also holds a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from the University of Hartford in Psychology. Mrs. Rockower has over 10 years of experience in secondary and higher education, which includes: Family Service Association, Hillcrest Middle School, Brien McMahon High School, and Agora Cyber Charter School. Mrs. Rockower is also married, has a 3 year old daughter, named Arianna and a 6 year old dog named Beaujolais. She is very excited to be going into her 8th year at Agora and is looking forward to helping her students reach their academic, personal, and career goals!
Mrs. Shea is an 11th/12th Grade Guidance Counselor here at Agora. She earned her Masters of Education Degree in Secondary School Counseling from Kutztown University and she is certified as a Secondary School Counselor. Mrs. Shea also earned a Bachelor's Degree from Gettysburg College with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She is a member of the American School Counselor Association and the Pennsylvania School Counselor Association. This is her fifth year working at Agora Cyber Charter School and she looks forward to helping her students reach their academic, personal, and career goals!
Mrs. Shea currently lives in the Lehigh Valley with her husband, 2 year old son Jimmy and her 4 year old Norwich Terrier dog Barney. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and traveling.

Ms. King began her career at Agora as a Family Coach; for the past three years she has worked in the position of Student Transition and Career Coordinator. Ms. King graduated from Temple University where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology. Following graduation Ms. King has worked with high school students assisting them with their transitional journey through high school and beyond in the Philadelphia Schools and privately. Ms. King states that her greatest career reward is working with the students and watching them succeed.
Ms. King recently moved to Havertown, Delaware County after living in Philadelphia for 20 years. Although she loved living in the City, she enjoys the more relaxed atmosphere of the suburbs where she enjoys the outdoors.
